No worries, just hoped you wouldn't take my posts on here as a sarcastic reply to yours, I just don't think people realise how strong the regulations are surrounding animal research and how damaging passing on unsubstantiated rumours can be! Hopefully Mrs B will share her experiences too.

Brand new poster eh? I joined this forum just 5 months after you, but clearly don't spend as much time writing posts as you do. In fact the large number of threads I started and posts I made are not credited as they were removed by admin. Why? Because they were doing the job that MrsB has since taken up on FB. But all my posts and those of the many others who were trying to warn about dodgy dealers and a vet were removed from this forum and still are.

You say that what I posted was 'complete heresay'. Sorry, but I too was a biochemist in a previous life and stood beside the horses as they were bled. This was done by the pharmaceutical company, not a blood bank and it is not heresay.

Can I suggest that, rather than hijacking MrsB's triumphal return, anyone interested in the blood bank option search that on this forum as there have been many similar threads which have been contributed to by several well informed people. Whilst there are those who say the blood bank option is a wonderful thing (the horse they cannot afford to keep as a pasture ornament cantering off to make new friends,) there are others who believe that a horse is for life and when it becomes unrideable due to orthopaedic problems, or tendon injuries or somesuch, then it is kinder to let them end their days rugged and drugged (not a blood bank possibility) or pts.
