I'm cross - A Rant!

If the rules allowed her to enter, she was able to enter and presumeably there was some form of prize money/prize for the winner? Which as a pro or amatuer can offset costs a bit! Maybe you should look for restricted classes? Then it won't bother you so much.
I fully support the idea if you are eligible for a class, unless you PERSONALLY feel you're morally not in the spirit by entering it, then you have the right to enter and compete. It's not up to others to decide whether someone is in the 'spirit' of things, I'd be interested to hear from the rider why she was taking the horses in those classes, but as I say, if the class is not restricted then it's open to all
 
Am I being stuck up???

I dont always do jump offs at any event, sometimes I choose not to hang about for hours after a good clear as I dont keep my horse at a yard and having no lighting so need to be home earlier . At this local event - I suport it by entering, do my rounds, horse goes home with my mum as everyone knows he is not allowed out after dark (running joke!), I stay and help. Or maybe I should pot hunt? Or maybe take the "oh thats so below me" stance? Just out of interest, what does everyone think would be better?

Some of the people on this forum are so disrespectful and very rude, the rider in question is a lovely girl, she is still only very young and at the beginning of her senior career, she is still at the age where competition experience is valuable, would the same fuss be made if she'd have come last ??? I doubt it.

As for Yogi giving her a talking too, I imagine he has far more important issues on his mind, like raising cash to send his team to the WEG, all this back stabbing is extremley petty and unnecessary, picking on her and saying horrible things is also called bullying and its not nice.
 
I think that you are all being pathetic she may have been riding a horse that she had never ridden before or If she had ridden it before it could have been tense in its tests or get up tight about the showjumping its a good way of competeing the horse without putting trauma on there legs running them xc also its a lot cheaper I know her and that she doesn't have loads of owners she's trying to make a career in eventing and it costs a lot of money so 20quid for a combined training and good experience for horses and rider (she's only 19/20 ) or 70 + for a b.e and although she been around badminton it doesn't mean you can solve any problem in the world!! And also you try taking a horse competeing b.e without taking it to an event before hand tell me you wouldn't be nervous and the horse that did an intermediate how do you know what problems it has she is doing her job and its her local centre you should be privileged to compete against her and I'm sure If you asked her for some tips or thoughts she would help think about it If that where you and the abuse you where getting for doing nothing wrong ...........
