I have decided that really, I need to lose some weight (thinking purely of my pretty 3 yr olds back!).

So, have got the diet thing under some sort of control (ie. no more salad dodging

)

BUT I hate exercise and get bored pretty easily

Can anyone recommend fun, yet effective, forms of exercise?? Preferably something that doesn't take up hours of my day

Suggestions please

I think horse riding is one of the best forms of excerise! When I worked full time on the breaking yard I had a 4 pack! (muscles, not stella!)

Or pole dancing? they do it at my local gym, looks fun! Plus it's something to earn brownie point from the OH with...

i second the wii idea.... ok it sets you back a few pennies,

BUT its sooo much fun, you stay at home, no one sees you looking daft, and i lost half a stone playing on them!!!

It has to be Davina's workout dvd. I think it's called 'The Power of Three'!! I never thought I would advocate such a thing but it really worked for me. It is officially the hardest thing I have ever done, mostly in the first section (legs and bums). I think its briefly based on interval training. Ouch. Within two weeks (four times a week) I was more toned everywhere

Good luck getting wii fit if thats you idea! Spoke to a man in my local game shop and he said that not even the suppliers have them! There simply arn't enough in existance! Or you can pay well over £100 on ebay for something thats RRP is £60-70!

I know the feeling! I did my back in for 8 mths last year and managed to put a stone on through lack of activity. I have still not shifted it so have started action! What about a good brisk walk everynight up some hills...does not sound a lot but will get things moving around!

My son got a trampauline for his birthday and it's brilliant. You really feel your whole body working and you don need to leave the garden, and it's fun too

Hee hee Charleyace, thats whats my hubby keeps telling me, but I don't believe a word of it !!.

Seriously though the old extra poundage is really hard to shift. I fractured some vertebrae 2 years ago and am still really struggling with extra 1.5 stone that I gained. Also coincided with hitting mid 30s- not good combination.
Have to really think about what food to eat, and combine with regular exercise. Have mini gym going on at home, little trampoline, weights, stepper, gym ball, hoola hoop - but it is soooo boring, just have to make self do it. It's rubbish really, cos I just want to eat chocolate

Hi scotsmare, what about one of those 'ijoy ride' riding simulators. bit pricey but apparently they really work! can do in your front room too in front of telly! no need to go to gym. usually second hand ones on ebay. or google: ijoy ride

Forget exercise if you get bored - Just cut all your food down - simple as.

Only eat bread a few times a week, fresh veg, dont go crazy on fruit as its full of sugar, lots of fish and white meat, eat a bowl of porridge in a morning to fill you up, dont eat after six and dont have a big tea.
