I can't even begin to tell you that O know how you feel but if it is any help my aunt lost 2 fingers in a lawnmower accident (yes she did get her hand stuck in the blades) and manages just fine now.

I hope you heal well and are back to normal really soon - do the physio they give you as it really will help your recovery.

At least you can distract yourself on here.

Ouch poor you, i went with my oh when he had his dressing changed after severing his finger! It was not as bad as i feared so im hoping yours will be ok too!! He was fortunate enough to have it re-attached, they did a good job too.
How did you do yours? if you dont mind me asking?
(((healing vibes))) a few extra vibes for good luck!!

please excuse the typing!!!left handed and im right!
it happened about a year ago.i was turning mul out and he reared up and pulled away and the rope got caught around my finger.
i had an op and they repaired a tendon in my joint closest to my finger tip,but things didnt improve and my finger was still sore and bent.
after scans etc,and 6 mths down the line they discovered i had dislocated my finger and torn a ligamernt and it got caught in the joint when the finger popped back in.
they operated again, removing the ligament and releasing tendons that had contracted.
it didnt work and my finger had no movement, and was becoming more bent over and had nerve damage, and was getting smaller,as it was dying.
im not in to much pain at all..........im waiting for it to kick in!!!!!

Oh you poor thing!!! Sounds awful!

I hope that it doesn't hurt too much, and that you recover quickly!

My husband lost a finger as a child, got it caught it in a mangle and squashed it off.

Strange thing is I didn't even notice until a year or so after we'd married, I'd always just assumed he had that finger bent over!!! It was on his right hand and as he was so young at the time (about two) he grew up left handed. But he can still write with his right hand when necessary. He is a doctor and the injury has never affected his dexterity. When riding he is stronger with the left hand and with the right leg!!

oh god that does sound rather painful! poor you! just showed this to OH he forever putting rope round his wrist! stupid man! hope HHO keeps you entertained! kept me entertained many a time
