I am seriously cross with my dogs.
EVERY single morning I come down to pee and piles of poo in their room! No flaming excuse, they just seem to have got into the habit. How do I break it? Suggestions please.

It has to stop or they can sleep out in the yard.

They are fed in the morning.
They have the run of the place all day.
They have access to the yard until midnight or later (and they do 'go' in the yard, so that isn't an excuse) AND I let them out onto the garden as well before I shut them in.
They are let out at 5.30am when OH gets up, is it really too much to ask of three adult dogs under 4 years to hold on?
They don't do it during the day if they are shut in for the same length of time.

Very naughty doggies, sounds like a habit. Not sure what advice to give you, maybe give them less food? Iam sorry I can't help. (give them ice cubes instead of water is something I have heard). or put them into crates at night - they hate messing their beds.
Good luck

LOL at ice cubes instead of water because when it gets cold they have a heated water bowl otherwise the water freezes solid!

I can't crate them, well I can, but I'd have to buy three big crates and @ $150 each I'll keep on scraping up the debris

The only reason it is SO inconvenient is that their room is the hallway (23' x 7') between the garages and the front door to the house.

I think that I'll probably just shift the kennel into the yard and they can stay outside (but then they bark at every passing deer, cat, skunk etc, bay at the moon and sing with the coyotes) I can't win it seems

Maybe you could buy a pen type thing, you know like you have with puppies and mum in?

and then al their beds can be in there and they won't mess their beds and the during the day it can be folded away.
