So for past two years I have had my youngster, she is now five. Its was always touch and go if she would make the height I really wanted 14'3. This is her just under 14'2 I love her to bits and she is 100% in every way. Do I look stupid on her or shall I put her on loan for a couple of years till my daughter outgrows her section A?

I think you look fine, she takes up your leg well. Only an inch under what you hoped for?? At 5, mine was 14.2 and didn't stop growing til he was about 8, ever so slow! He's now 15.1.

Wow I wasnt expecting that......Thank you so far :)

I have started jumping with her and she loves it, I just feel I have nothing in front of me on take off ( Im on top of her ) if you know what I mean?

I think you look fine, and I'm someone on here that usually disagrees with the "you look fine" majority. I want to put your stirrups down a hole or two though.

I agree you look fine, she is a nice chunky build , I like a lot!!!!! if she was a tb type you would look too big....my old horse was 15.1 at 3 and 16hands at 6, so theres a chance she may still get a bit taller.....

Can't believe I'm posting this, but here's a comparison (will take down photos later!)
Aged 5, just got him.

Aged 9, I think.

Definitely a bit taller!

My traddy was just under 14.1 when he was a five year old. By the time he reached 7 years old he measured 14.3 ish (just under 15hh) !!

I think you're young man has a bit of filling out and maturing to do yet OP and I'm pretty sure you'll find he'll go up another inch or 2 I bet! ;).

He's a bootiful young horse, so if he were mine,...he wouldn't be going anywhere!!

My five yr old is 14.1 and gives me a similar feeling of not much in front of you. It is more noticeable in forward seat jumping or galloping so I do loads of balance exercises and try really hard to stay over my leg. Try trot poles into a very low grid of three crosses one stride apart. Use guide poles on fences. Try riding it in a forward seat in trot. Knot reins loosely on her withers. Arms out to sides. You'll soon get your balance!!! Good luck
