and the atmosphere for the National next week is already building.

I drove through the race course (because of the public road) and some of the fences look enormous, I didn't realise they were that big.

I don't live in Liverpool, just staying for a few days with my boyfriend's family but I'm gutted I won't be able to actually witness it all next week.

I really do want to go to watch the big race; it's on my 'To do before I get too old' list!

Some of the jumps there Mabel are massive and I'm 5ft 7 and they look so much bigger than me.

Toady, i don't think you really see how big the jumps actually are on TV. I need to see them for real!

There is still a motor racing circuit at Aintree, it runs inside a lot of the fences and the TV camera cars use it.

I did a driving course there some years ago and we were warned that on no account were we to drive too hard around the corner at beeches brook, as the ditch is big enough for a single seater car to fall right into and submerge!
