A rug which isn't quite as thick/warm as most stable rugs. I do have a fleece but it tends to slip back and go quite tight around the front, not sure what make it is :) If anyone has any recommendations of rug to try, just want something to put on during the night when it's not cold enough for a stable rug but too cold for nothing :)

Mince pies for any help (home made) :D oh and cream ;)

we have amigos that I think are 80/100g they are really quite light but keep the blonde one cleaner than a fleece. I also got them both half price when wychanger moved a couple of years ago.

maybe they are 150g actually having googled

Fleeces are a terror for slipping back - and as my older son says - destroying withers......I find a lightweight sheet is OK - nylon with a cotton liner - they don't tend to slip back - and some cooling rugs works quite well as well.

I'm more than a little in love with my pony's summer weight Thermatex. Its not as thick as the original ones and it is still warm and wicking. Its been hugely useful so far! Its not their summer sheet, its a proper knitted type rug but without the padding and squares of the thicker original one, its ideal for horses that find the originals too warm

lol. Mine was a bargain as it was ex display

Before I found the Thermatex I was looking at the Weatherbeeta Jasper stable rugs, they come in light and extra light

I've used an Amigo Mio stable sheet or an old no fill Amigo turnout(it repels stable stains better-wouldn't a thermatex get wet??)for this purpose before.

I've popped a rain sheet on before. My lad was very wet and dirty in the stable and a turnout rug stayed drier than a stable rug.

Thanks for all the suggestions :)

I do already have a Coolmasta and I was thinking about getting another one as a 'spare' so to speak but was a tad put off with the price now i think I bought mine when it was one offer, typically I need a 6ft and robinsons only goes to 5ft9 :(

I do have two l/w amigos which is all she has during the day so I could leave that on at night :)
