Helloooo ! Been living in new lounge for a while but thought i'd stick my head in here!!
I have an 8yo jack russelly thing ... who i love. like, shes my baby. have had her since i was 5 . She's very assertive, protective like a lot of JR, but got mellower the last few years. Shes superbly loving and affectionate to her "pack" .Likes to sleep in your bed and lick your legs when you come out of the shower etc.
But a couple of months ago, she went to my nans when we went on holiday and got very itchy . She took her to the vet ( she panicked) and vet thought it was a pollen allergy. Gave her an injection to help with that and she stopped. She came back home , was okay , but started itching again.
About two weeks later, I thought she was dying. Literally. I thought I was going to lose my baby. She was listless , lying around not moving at all , didnt mind my picking her up, positioning her, she looked knocked out. And for a little dog who likes to growl if you ask for an inch more in your bed , it was horrible. I could move her head in her bed and she would flinch , blink ,move it back.
AAnnyway, next day , took her to ( the same) vets.Apparently it was fleas. Like, she could see them.I was mad. How could she not notice an apparently " massive " flea invasion and put me through that. anyway , injected her again and no problems ( apparently the comatose like behaviour was a reaction to flea bites?? )
So thats all fine. But shes itching again , and despite being de flea -ed twice recently its still going on? My mother gave her quite a lot as well. Any ideas? ??
And finally , some pics to give cuteness factor
Thanks && walkies to anyone who bothered to read this far- couldnt stop once i'd started!!
