I've not been on for a while but I'm feeling the need to vent.
At the end of Feb my mum got burgled and had her car stolen and burnt out so she rang me and asked me to go down for a couple of days. I rang my yard and left an answer phone message for thie horse to be on full livery for a few days. Anyway this was on the Tuesday, on the Wednesday I rang and spoke to one of the ladies that works in pthe office and asked for him to be on full livery on the Thursday too. On the Friday I went to the yard and started tacking up. As i was sorting his girth out i noticed an inch long deep gash at the top of his leg. It was quite deep and smelt bad so i rinsed it out with water and asked another livery and the yo opinions on as i should call my vet. Both agreed i should. Anyway vet came out and said it was infected and to keep it clean and to walk him out in hand for 30 mins a day. Anytway when i went back that afternoon to give more hay, he was out in the field! I wenpt and got him back in and the girl that does all the livery etc said he'd been kicked on the Tuesday and couldn't find mine or my vets details to let me know!! The thing thats really annoyed me is that outside of my stable is a sheet with my jumber, emergency contact, vet abd farrier number. Also the office have my number! So basically if she had rang the vet straight away ut would have been stitched and been nearly better by now, but as it is, its still weeping, open and swollen. Hes lame and in pain.
Its just really really peed me off that no one even tried to contact me!
