but can you confirm my suspicions? I've just put my horse on horsemart about an hour ago and have just recieved this...

Hi

Saw your advert do you still have the horse available?I will like to know the present health condition of the horse and Kindly furnish me with some picture's to forward to my son whom am buying for in Italy to have a view.

Await your response.

Matt

Thankies!

Hmm. Not sure I would be too keen on the idea of a horse of mine being shipped off to someone on the continent that I had never met! And what a strange question to ask?? I would ignore that message if I were you!

It's hard to be sure from such a short mesage. A friend has recently recieved one that went on for a lot longer and mentioned cheques for greater than the amount specified but that my mate would then pay transporter with the excess. Also about sending the passport prior to collection, all very dodgy for a sight unseen horse. Yours does at least request pictures...

Yours may be genuine. Of course it is always worth asking yourself (and not wishing to offend your horse) but is the horse so special it would gain international interest - i.e. they cannot get similar type nearer home?

Good luck finding your horse a great home.

Thanks guys, I had no intention of replying to it as it just seemed strange. For starters if its only been on an hour, then yeah its still going to be available, nobody would be coming to see it at 9pm would they!?! And why does he want photo's theres 4 on there already... hmmm very strange indeed.

MrsM your right if he can access it then so should his son. Suze369 as much as I love him and thinks he's a poppet, he's not internationall quality, just a nice fun horse for someone!

Scam - I've been getting some of these too. What makes me laugh is the wording - if they were serious then they would know that its a 34inch mini Shetland I'm selling !!

Definately a scam.
I tried selling a horse on the internet a few years ago and got a lot of these.
I got one that sounded perfect.
Turned out to be a nigerian living near by and recieved death threats as i sussed them.
Police got involved and they did a runner after a drive by shooting!!!

Its a scam!
I am trying to sell my car on autotrader at the moment.....and i keep getting emails like that about the car.
Normally along the lines of, " i have seen your advery and pictures and am very happy with it, what is the lowest price you will take. I am from uzbeckistan (or similar such place) buying on behalf of a client and will send a shipping company to deal with the sale, email me your name, address, telephone number, bank details and i will pay you" etc etc!
Pain in the bloomin necks!
