Okay, have applied for a passport form, but it says a vet needs to do parts of it. Please bear in mind I have never done a passport before

Now, I'm the kind of person who likes to know how much something is going to cost prior to me doing it so i can budget.

Phoned vet and asked how much, basically 40 quid callout and another 40 quid for the paperwork. So add the passport fee to that and we're talking about 100 quid.

Does that sound right? Sounds a bloomin rip off to me.

Has anyone used ne of the passport agency's checking people? Didnt know if to try them and see if they'd be cheaper as there are a couple in our area.

Just found I need a new stable door so am watching the pennies lol

Do you have a vaccination card - if so you can use that as the diagram on it of the horse will have been completed by your vet for identity purposes.
 
My vets used to charge between £8 - £25 depending on what needed to be filled out. If they have your horses silhouette on record they should easily transfer it without viewing the horse and I know my vets would just do this as a good customer service.

Ah, well - It's a lot of money, but you don't really have much choice unfortunately.
 
If you are going to vacinate the horse, you can then use the diagram that the vet will draw for the vacination certificates. Choose a vet that doesn't charge. Any vet can stick a needle in a horse even a pet vet so you don't need to go for the best vet in the area for jabs just the cheapest.

When I had one done the approved passport person charged me £10.
