We didn't win the £80,000!

I'm so angry though! Yesterday a primary school won, then today a primary school won!

it should have been the two schools against each other. It really wasn't fair. We didn't really have much of a chance

I'm just so upset!
We really needed this money! The stupid school only wants it to make a bloody pond and some playground markings and stuff! That's the fecking councils job!

If we'd won it the money would have built a wonderful indoor arena to help a lot of sick and disadvantaged kids and of course, would have helped a lot of animals!

Thankyou very much to everyone who voted though.
And to end, i hate tebay fecking primary school!

sorry but we need and would use that money for a much better cause than them!
It's not really them i'm mad at, the people who organised it so the two primary schools were both against a project with much less support. It was obviously done on purpose to make the councils look good and it's not right!

I don't doubt you're upset, but there's no use being a sore loser. Everyone who enters these things believes their cause to be a worthy one, but the fact is that phone-ins amount to little more than popularity contests and rarely have anything to do with the actual 'deserving' to win.

Yes I am sorry about you loosing too but to me a primary school is a much better cause for such an amount as it helps the community, future childrens education and will be a facility there for the majority for years to come...as apposed to a small section group of a specific interest.
It is not the councils job to fund such projects for schools, they have to find the money as does every other organisation and I know of many schools (particularly primary) that fight long and hard to get funding to make the most minor of alterations and improvements.
I am not having a go but unfortunately these things happen and whoever made the decision would have done so based on the whole project and benefits to the public community.

i know but i also know of at least 10 young people that mossburn has helped turn their life around!
Young people with no family, bad background etc. who have no focus in life have come to mossburn and developed a great love for the animals, giving them something to aim for in life and get up for in the mornings!
Our campaign slogan was saving animals to save children.
Mossburn does an awful lot for the community and will also be here for a long time to come and it's not just a rescue centre

yep but if the money was for a pond and playground marking then thas stupid! God at least the rescue centre is helping people and animals! The money will be a good cause and will benefit alot of animals and alot of people- ponds and playground pictures get boring by the time they have been there two weeks!

The thing is, the money for a pond and playground can be raised by the schools PTA and other events and also by donations for parents and non uniform days and that sort of thing.

Mossburn is a charity and relies on donations to keep running. They do so much good work and this money would have been fantastic for them in order to help other people and kids and the animals.

Really really sorry you didn't win Siobhan.

I understand you are upset and angry, but ask yourself, which one is going to benefit more children? Also, do Mossburn charge for their services...if so then that may have gone against them as the invested money would benefit Mossburn too, if you understand me. If you look at the 2 projects side by side, I am afraid it was a bit of a no brainer on the voting front...

Animal and Creative Therapy Centre, Mossburn Community Farm This project will create an outdoor riding arena which will support equine assisted therapy and a sensory garden to provide further enjoyment for all participants. The project will also teach volunteers new life skills as they support participants in these activities. Village of Hightae near Lockerbie, serving Dumfries and Galloway area 29 November
Tebay School Outdoor Project, Tebay Community Primary School This project aims to extend the school's range of outdoor facilities and activity areas. It includes two adventure play areas, a wildlife area, a gardening area, two outdoor shelters, play panels and rabbit hutches. Tebay Community Primary School, Penrith, Cumbria 29 Novem

yeah it's all free. should of been put in yeah. We had a great news bit on last night showing all the animals and some of the people we have helped and are helping. But only people in our region could see it.

I can understand you're upset, you seem to represent a wonderful cause, but the school is using the money for a bit more than a pond and playground markings.
I think it's unfair the two were against each other. Perhaps you could use it as an opportunity though. Maybe approach the school and suggest some kind of joint promotion? Are you near the school?
