I'm so disappointed... my BD report!

She drinks quite a lot on the day as I always give her a full bucket of water whenever we have done a class

I have spoken to Baileys this morning and they have recommended taking her off the Outshine and try her on something like the Endurance Mix to start off with. She has not been on a mix for a long time, as I just have her on a fibre based diet, but perhaps now her work is the hardest I have ever asked of her, it is time to add an additional feed type. I have also been recommended by Baileys to try her on an Electrolyte too...

I tried reminding her just before we went in on Sunday, and she was responsive. But when I reminded her when we were waiting for the bell, she went more and more behind the leg and then shut down

The problem is, she needs warming up quite a bit because she is not a naturally athletic horse

But with a good warm up she really starts to improve. She can also be a little stiff after travelling, so I do lots and lots of walking on a long rein in a lower outline and then pick her up to start getting her hind legs underneath her.

I thought she would have been flat in the second warm up (having been in the first test) but as soon as we were back in the warm up again she was bright and reactive once more

Mine hates going indoors to do a test, just gets spooky and silly and generally naps and avoids going in without a lead!

Outside, bit spooky if new place, but lovely to ride and positively loves it!

Definatey agree with those who say get in the ring and canter. I would do it almost straight away. I have done it with a lot of my horses even the fizzier ones as soon as they are reasonable experienced as I find it focuses me and the horse, gets them in front of the leg and they know I mean business. It also means when I come down the centre line I can back off a bit and still have a forward soft horse rather than having to push on.

Hope that makes sense,
