Mum and I took Neddy for another walk today :)

I must say, I am ecstatic! I walked him in-hand for a very short time, this time. Funnily enough, we met my Dad out on his bike ride! He stopped and we talked for a short while, Ned just stood looking around and eventually put his head down to have a munch. I asked my Dad if he could walk with us for a bit, to see how Ned would act. He barely even noticed, haha!

I then hopped on and we carried on.
He had one little spook at some other horses who decided that trotting around was the best thing to do. He did turn at one point to go home, but I didn't have any of it and kept him going.
We then met someone lurking behind a hedge, he was nervous, but kept going. Some dogs in a barn started barking (a huge amount of dogs! Perhaps hunt hounds? No idea) He stopped and looked, but carried on with a little kick from me.
On the way home, we met some youths on a quad bike! They were very switched on and waited for me to pass, again he looked, but didn't spook.

We then came to a fork in the road, both ways lead back to the yard, so I sent Mum one way and I went the other, through the ford. He was amazing :) We had a bit of a side step at a pile of roof slates, which did actually look like a crouching lion, lol!
I then met up with Mum again and we walked home :)

I can't even express how proud I am!!

I'm glad they did wait, I think I could have dealt with it if they hadn't, but they just made my job a whole lot easier :) They got a nice big smile and a thank you ^^

He's 10, I think :)

Well done, small steps is definitely the way. Ours that had major issues being more than 10' away from another, even on the yard, is now as good alone as she is in company, it can be done!

Well done with your girl :D I hope to be there with Neddy by the end of this year (I would like it if he was there by summer, but trying not to push him too far, too fast)
