I'm so stupid....Bl**dy Derby House AGAIN!!

I ordered a medium weight which came next day and a heavyweight which took a week or so as wasnt in stock! No problems though, not the thickest rugs in the world but i tend to layer mine anyway

I got one of the rugs and although it isn't particularly heavy it will suit mine fine for next winter. I've got him in one at the moment, that I bought 2 years ago, and it is fine although the fastenings are a bit cheap and have bent. It hasn't leaked at all though. I'm happy with them at the price though if I was paying over £50 or so I wouldn't be.
I also got some joddy boots and Easyboots and all came pretty quickly.

I seem to be the only one with a good story about them!

I got the rugs at £35 - one heavyweight and one middleweight and I'm delighted with them! :) I also ordered jodhs on the offer and they arrived the next day. Rugs came 2/3 days later but they let me know that they were waiting on them coming.

Me too, I bought the same and I'm delighted with them. They fit my TB really well, really waterproof and a fantastic price.

Except my HW was only £30 on a day offer!! :D

I bought the rug on the £30 offer, however it's not heavy weight, I wouldn't even say its med weight!
Does fit well however I am going to complain!

Have just called them and they say that the wrong label was stitched in, they tested and say its 300.
They acknowledge that on Facebook they had said it was 300 heavy.

But if I wish to return it then they will refund, including all postage!
However I used mine once, likely hood of getting money back??

Urgh my friend had to do a seriously arsy letter after not recieving her rug and it took a while for her to get her money back. I bought two horses a while ago and needed more rugs last minute so I looked up a local online retailer that let me go pick up my item. www.equestrianperformance.co.uk just a little recommendation as they did me some huge favours :) I hope you all get sorted this weather is making life pretty miserable atm!

what do you mean 300 and 300 heavy. Surely 300gms is 300gms??

Well I admit that I didn't see a gram figure on the advert.

I just jumped at the offer and assumed it would be at least 300g

Won't make that mistake again!

Interestingly the poni versions state 300g

I bet they the poorly paid manufacturers have cocked up here. I wonder if anyone has ever reported this company to trading standards? Have you ever wondered why they never show product reviews? I think I do now!

I ordered 3 summer sheets from them earlier this month. Still waiting for delivery. I rang them and they said they were awaiting them from the supplier but they'd definitely be in stock by last week. Still waiting a week later.

I just wish they'd be honest - if I'm paying for Express delivery I don't expect it to take almost a month!

Every time I order from them I wonder whether that will be the order that goes awry. To date they have never disappointed and I have always been really pleased with the goods and the prices!!

I had a bad experience with this company. I ordered a rug from their website, then waited ..... and waited ..... and waited for it to arrive. I then rang them to find out where it was, only to hear that the rug I had ordered had never been in stock in the first place. NEVER AGAIN!!

I ordered one of the 'heavyweight rugs' and a few jump pole sleeves at the beginning of the month. Finally got my refund for the rug as they told me after I complained that they have run out and not getting any more. Still waiting for jump sleeves. I won't use them again as they take your money but don't have stock. I think they will soon close as they are rubbish

I often order from derby house and have never had any problems.
To those who feel their rug is not med/heavy as advertised, did you check the grams before ordering? I never rely on the description I always look for the actual weight before ordering rugs from anywhere.

I normally look for a gram aswell, but there wasn't one! So when it said heavyweight I assumed 300grams at the least

I too have never had any problems with them. I love their denim breeches and one of my favourite TOs is one from them (although 4/5 years old) and cost me £24 in the sale! didn't much care for their fly rugs or fleeces though but have never had a problem with receiving orders.

When I ordered my two rugs, it stated clearly in the description the weight and the denier as I know people have different expectations of middlewight - heavyweight.

I've looked at mine today and they both state correctly on the label 200gms and 300gms.

I think theyre probably a hit or a miss with people but I've always had really good service and been pleased with my purchases.

just had a dispatched email , so if it does arrive in the 3 days stated then I will be pretty happy with the service tbh, I don't expect much for £35 turnout rug anyway!

I have recently bought 2 turnout rugs both were 300 grm fill and are certainly heavyweight, I did change the front clips before even trying them on the horses.

I did however notice that at the same time I bought mine ( navy blue) there were also a burgandy and a brown rug on offer as heavyweight but they were 200 grm, you had to read the details but the information was there on the offer.

Mine did take 2 weeks to arive but both horses are very happy and warm, for £35 i still think they are a bargain :O)

I've only from them twice.

The first time, delivery took two months; the second time, three weeks.

Tbh I probably will order from them again but it will only be for things tha I don't mind waiting for, like clothes etc. I use Equestrian Clearance for items I need delivered quickly.

I did the same last time they were on offer, the damn thing didn't even last 12 hours on my horse and was then shredded from ears to tail - one great big long rip, stuffing hanging out all over the place, cold wet windy day and the horse was freezing his non existent nuts off !!!!!! NEVER AGAIN would I buy anything from them - the lining doesn't match upto the rug shape as it is longer than the rug, stitching is **** and comes apart at the slightest touch .............
Really have nothing good to add to this !!!!!!!

There are so many good retailers that sell online either with web sites or on e-bay why would any one want to buy something from a company known for poor service.
I ordered a rug from R&R country on Sunday afternoon and it arrived this morning, in this day and age having to wait a week or more for dlivery is poor.
I try and buy all my rugs off season so I will be buying winter ones over the summer. Unless you buy brands you know I think some of the cheap ones are false economy, some of mine are into their fourth season.

Well **shock Horror*** it's arrived! Just 5 days after ordering it......

But it's a 200g rug!!!!!!! That's NOT heavyweight. In fact I think I have thicker medium weights in my collection.

NEVER, EVER will I buy anything from DH again. Enough is enough.

Oh my god derby house is the worst!! I hope you receive your rug (eventually!)

After my last 2 derby house incidents I'm never going to use them again - there are far too many good horsie retailers about to have to put up with DH's appauling customer service.
Not only do they take forever to dispatch products (and that's if they're actually in stock in the first place!) but they are SUCH hard work to try and get a response out of when you need one.

Late last year I ordered a bit, double checked with them that it was in stock but after 3 months I gave up hope of it ever coming! Was very difficult to cancel the order due to endless "are you sure / it will be dispatched tomorrow" 's.

This year I got drawn into their breeches offer, so ordered those with a set of quite pricey horse boots that i needed fairly quickly. I knew DH weren't the best at quick dispatches but thought I had plenty of time. My order was "being processed" for weeks, I called several times asking what the delay was and ended up cancelling my order after many failed attempts to get through to them by phone / email. A few days later I got an email to say my order had been dispatched - why!?!
I contacted them MANY times to try and find out why it had been dispatched when Id asked for it not to be and they never came back to me. Eventually their courier collected the parcel, but they then denied any knowledge of sending him and refused to refund us as they apparently hadn't received it back!!!

Eventually got it sorted after much tearing hair out, but the whole saga went on for about 2 months due to their lack of any communication. Awful service and after that drama I will never use them again (no matter how tempting the offers!h . Such a shame as it used to be a great company.

I'm not quite sure what people expect when they are paying £30 for a rug...

I totally get that and don't expect it to last long but I do expect it to be as advertised..... ie HEAVYWEIGHT!

Lots of compliants about this on their FB page and lots of people asking where their orders are.

Well can't complain about the quick postage- arrived at lunchtime today ! but of course, the heavyweight is a mere 200g

Shame if it rips etc because I actually like the rug's style in itself! well cut, fits my horse fab with full coverage from poll to bum and doesn't move around (unlike my TERRIBLE nightrider rug >< which leaks, the lining pulls the outer layer back so the neck just scrunches up at the bottom, sides ripped and straps come off :( I paid £70 for that ! ) So if this is any better for £35 I will be pretty pleased! just wished they'd advertised it as mediumweight

I ordered a M/W rug and it took 3 months to get to me! never again! rubbish as well....someone told me they only cost a £1 to make and are made in india so we not really support them,
