I jumped 60cm tonight!

It's only about the 4th fence I've jumped since I fell off about 5 years ago and I desperately want to get my jumping courage back again. Canto was really good bless him - my instructor said there was no way he was going to stop! She said he looked as if he could jump another metre on top of that pretty easy *scaredface*

I'm so pleased with him at the mo - after a tricky start we really seem to be getting it together

Although I think I'll need a bit more brave juice if I'm going to affiliate him!

Hehe! I knew I'd get that question! It's my horsie but not me jumping

Hopefully won't be long though! I never used to have a problem when I was younger, but since I've ridden a few numpty horses that like dumping you on the floor I seem to have lost my nerve a little

Hence my aspirational 'name'....

Aww bless him... He is super - I bought him cos they kept wacking the jump up and he just flew over it like it was a trotting pole! Also nice and laid back and not going to dump me!

I used to have terrible nerves jumping anything over 80cm. It was absolutely crippling and even worse at shows. TFT (Thought Field Therapy) helped LOADS

Thanks P_F - I'll have a look into that. When I used to jump the height didn't bother me - I'd think if they are going to stop or run out it doesn't make a difference what size the fence is lol! Now, they just look HUGE...although tonight I was so busy concentrating on slowing him down I didn't think about the height too much

Glad to hear you seem to have gotten over your nerves though - at least there is light at the end of the tunnel!

Google Jo Cooper. She sorted me out and has my experience (as well as some other HHOers) on her website. I kept imagining PF ploughing into the fence, rolling over on top of me, or even worse, hurting herself!! Totally illogical but nevertheless...

I've recently used Jo Cooper too, she has so helped me, I had jumping issues as well, sometimes it was ok, sometimes absolutely not ok at all. Had a bit of a wobble in last weeks lesson, but overcame it & achieved an unheard of "excellent" from my trainer!!! Give her a call, she's really very good.
