Apologies in advance, but this is pretty self indulgent I am afraid...
I got my new boy 2 months ago. My confidence wasn't that great and I was a bit of a nervous rider.
Well! NO MORE!!!! Ha ha! In the last month, Kalief and I have just clicked. I feel that this is a combination of a new saddle, moving to a new yard and a happier horse and therefore happier me.
My achievements recently include:
1) sitting to his spooks and now finding them quite funny.
2) Hacking out and not pooping myself at 'what ifs'
3) cantering out on a hack with other horses both in front and behind
4) cantering across an OPEN FIELD (!!) and not totally pooping myself
5) going out on a hack on my own and having a canter (that was today)
I have thought about how bl00dy lucky I am to have found him and things not turn into a total disaster. I swear he hasn't put a foot wrong since he came to me.
BTW, he isn't perfect and can be a naughty spooky bugger, but it doesn't seem to matter!
Hello confidence! It's me!
So thank you my boy! I love you!
