Having seen the thread with all of the lovely Matchy Matchy sets on your horses, I took a look at some photos, and decided the best I can do is to give up and start a new trend.

Clashy Clashy.

I look like I dressed myself and my horse in the dark..... I didn't set out to look so unmatched it just sort of happened. I did think the emerald green numnah would look good on a bright chestnut, I just didn't factor in the plethora of other colours that would be in use!
So come on, any other colour-match disaaaasters dahlings?

Shweetieeeee, this is the club I behelong to!

No photos but I can tell you now I go to a lot effort... it takes concentration and in depth calculations in order to get just the right sort of clashy clashy.

Heehee, I'm glad I'm not alone!
This was the mare I lost last year. My old gelding refuses to have his photo taken in his day-glo yellow fly bonnet and electric blue numnah, he's SO embarrassed. Especially as cruel mum makes him wear *sharp intake of breath* *whispers* a brown bridle and black saddle!!!

Aww beautiful Maggie :)

I used to clash quite often, I had some lovely purple chaps and wore them with other brightly coloured numnahs and jackets! However nowadays tend to have everything brown and purple. ..numnahs, chaps, jackets, and they all go quite well together. I'm matchy matchy without even trying :D :D

I've looked at the matchy matchy thread and the clashy clashy thread and I have no idea where I fit in :confused3:

Everything matches right down to the boots we both wear but it's all brown. The pony is brown, as is his tack, his numnah, girth, knee boots, over reach boots. I could go on but it would send you all to sleep.

I think I'm in the boring boring category :eek3:

Haha, I love clashy clashy! This is definitely me and mine :) Don't have a picture, but today we had blue saddle pad, white flexi boots, day-glo orange hi-viz sheet (on a chestnut :)), black fly veil, multi-coloured fly fringe and brown nose net :) Will get a picture of our fabulous outfit next time :)

I contributed to the matchy matchy thread as that is what we aspire to but in reality we generally are very clashy clashy :D

yey im another clashy clashy victim :D i love matchy matchy but ive yet to own a horse that dsnt trash everything so i gave up, i dont even manage to keep matching headcollars and leadropes (or leadropes atall for that matter, where the hell do they go!?? ha)

p.s your horse is absolutely gorgeous! chestnuts with a blaze and socks are my faves (nobody tell my herd i said that! :P)

Hehe - I'm with you all the way Crazy Dancer. I took my son's horse out yesterday in his black saddle, but brown bridle and brown saddle cloth. I was wearing blue jods, a stripy green and white top, brown half chaps and brown boots (with holes in them) as well as fluorescent top and hat cover. We hacked round the woods - it is dark in there so hopefully our attire wasn't too noticeable!

Did you not know that they grow legs and walk away, just like the hoof picks! Haha :p

Lol

I'm similar, except all my attire is black. Only thing that changes is the horse colour: bay, grey or chestnut.

All you need are some really bright (I'm thinking purple, or maybe hot pink!) bandages and you would truly be a clashy clashy queen. :)

I tend to stick to dark colours to avoid such a fiasco.. I rock navy, grey and black. This is about as "matchy" as I manage to get -

and that's only because I am wearing such dull colours! However our hacking get up is usually a bit more stylish, as the orange hi-viz turns pretty much any outfit clashy. :)

Thanks - it's made me smile too, some great comments. It's just over a year since I lost the chestnut mare in the photo, (pts after a field accident) and it wasn't until I was going through the photos that I realised quite how clashy we were..... it was never an intentional look!! Thanks Rowan she was a looker at her finest. Well, except for her huge 10-to-2 donkey ears!! Bless her. Memories of happier days.

Nice thread OP. Making me smile as my hacking buddies have banned me from wearing my bright pink jacket when I ride a chestnut. The horse and I don't mind, but my fellow humans do!
And my recent stress is that the saddle that fits my new horse is brown - her lovely bridle is black. As are the stirrup leathers as the previous saddle was black. Oh well, one day we'll look coordinated. :-)

Not so much clashy clashy but my Mum used to say I looked like, quote "a bag lady" out hacking!! Due to my casual, just chuck on any old trouser, shirt, fleece combo (preferably as grubby as possible), as wellies (shock horror I know, I know) plus obligatory horse slobber stained high viz and away you go! He he. Going to aim for matchy matchy or at least even clashy clashy with my youngster though - she's a girl so feel the need to dress her (&myself) up a bit!! Roll on the pink ha ha!
