I have been web surfing looking for birthday pressie for a friend and she has a couple of Joules Polo's so thought I would take a look.

Well I am starting to think their clothes are not worth the money, I didn't actually see anything I liked and the cost was silly, £55 for a little skirt, £ 39 for a polo shirt etc. They were nothing special either.

What does everyone else think.

I also agree, I barely buy any horsey branded clothing, it's all just cheapy rubbish from primark and a few odd pairs of jods.

Saying that I am really wanting a pair of the new Joules wellies!!
 
I have a joules jacket and it's great, I reckon it was well worth the money.

It's been very well worn, washed loads and is still looking great.
zips all still working unlike another make of which I have 2 jackets and both have broken zips

Agree - sales reductions are great and I only buy direct from them then. Though I do work part time in a saddlery so get 25% staff discount anyway

Wholeheartedly agree. I was doing a little wardrobe clearout and found some really old Joules stuff anf compared it to the quality of some I bought in the most recent sale and its worlds apart. The fabric is thinner and the colours have already run in the new stuff...So it begs the question..whats the next "Joules" brand..??
 
You see mum got some for Xmas last year and they were awful, they lasted a month before they split and at £ 30 + they are not in the league of Hunters etc but i'm sure a £10 pair from Asda would have lasted longer.

I don't think Joules clothing is as popular as it used to be a few years ago (apparently its not cool anymore lol) but I do think you pay for what you get and every item of Joules clothing I've had I must admit it has lasted and I really do hammer them, teashirts, coats, jumpers...boots, they all last, wash well, never shrink or fade, buttons don't fall off, stitching never comes loose, were as other brands which are more expensive, fall to bits on you.

Not looked at the latest catalogue, I might check out the website and see if there is anything nice.

Dont get the joules wellies!

I was desperate for a new pair of wellies, my hunters had lasted me 6 years!

I got a new pair of joules wellies for christmas, obviously i started waering then straight away?

But less than 2 months later they have a massive split in them!
I get a very wet foot!

My sister that bought them for me has spoken to joules and sent them back.

we should get a replacement or refund but it shouldnd have happened.

They get normal wear.
Im at the yard about 2 hours in the morning and 2 or 3 hours in the evening and obviously im not in them all that time, when im riding i wont be wearing them.
 
I must agree with you there, I did have some Joules wellies and they were leaking after a few weeks.....but so have both pairs of Hunters!

maybe I'm just a welly wrecker?

Funny, I thought it was too expensive for a while then on Saturday I went to my local flower shop (Amy Louise in Epping High Street, Essex) and they strangely had a big sale of Joules clothes. They don't normally do clothes but they had racks of the stuff, I got a shirt, polo shirt and a jumper all for £40, one of the shirts was only £7.50!
 
See thats interesting cos I've just chucked out two polo's cos they started off navy and after many washes turned ' denim' blue.

I've got a navy joules polo shirt and that's never faded, mind you, the OH does all the washing (I'm not very domesticated lol) and although he shrinks my work clothes, the Joules stuff always seem to survive!

I've just requested the Joules cataloge as I really like their stuff, but have never owned any.

I've told the oh I want the Blouson Jacket in baby blue...... hes looking into it

I got the blue and white striped fleece, lovely, warm and soft, BUT every single bit of haylage sticks to it, now looks rubbish! Silly me thinking it was ok to wear it to the yard

I don't buy branded horse stuff because it is too expensive. Besides I'd like to be paid to advertise someones name not pay them!
 
I think Joules stuff is really good quality and not as expensive as the likes as Boden/ Crew etc and it washes very well.

BUT...the wellies are rubbish! I ahd two pairs which both split in weeks. Now very happy back in me old faithful hunters!
 
ive got to admit i love joules stuff. ive bought quite a few items out of their new catalogue from ebay, for a fraction of the price on their website.
the baby blue jacket is gorgeous, though ive put it to one side till the nicer weather comes and the mud dries up

I only buy Joules stuff from their stands at Country Shows. They normally have good discounts at Badders, too. I love my Joules jacket, but there's no way I'd have paid full price for it!
 
See thats the thing I think we've all got some Joules stuff but now we wait for the sales which for them can't be great. They have a shop in Chichester and they are so desperate to make a sale I don't go in there cos its always empty and the assistants pounce on you. I like to browse in peace, this season I haven't seen anything I like though.
 
I like the designs but find the sizings odd - have too go up sizes (10 -14 in some t shirts) and some designs don't allow for boobs, whatever the size!!
Think price is ok though.
 
The wellies aren't really meant to be worn around the yard, they are designed for posing in and that's about it!

Most of the stuff is very cheaply made and looks it. Standards have gone down.
 
I like Joules but only when hubby buys it for me!!

DON'T buy Joules Wellies - I loved their Union Jack ones and so did the French but they split after less than two months. My French weilies have lasted two winters.
