im thinking of getting another dog, any ideas

i currently have a collie, 4 yrs male and thinking of getting him a playmate. do i opt for a male or female, thinking of a little person, any idea of what type of breed would go with a collie. mine loves other dogs and is not nasty at all. thanks.

I would go for a female.....if he is playful...try and get him a playful mate...lol
Really depends on what u would like....maybe a little cross breed, or a terrier.

Is your boy castrated? if you get diff sexes be prepared to have to neuter one to avoid babies!!!

Get a tough terrier type dog... your collie being playful may intimidate/over power a real littley.

In getting a terrier your colli will be the one needing time out...lol

they are willfull little beggers my mams...soon to be BB2 s can give her malamute and shepherd a run for their money and he just keeps coming back for more

for a playmate i would go male as females can be stroppy and not so playful, tend to put the boys in their place bit like us girls lol

why not another collie? I know you wanted a small one... but collies seem to really love other collies (more than any other breed) - just an observation

A Springer all the way!!! I am biased as I have 2, but they are extremely playful and tolerant and the working ones, especially bitches are quite small.

My bitches to are very playful...alot more playful than my dogs....when rehoming....we always re-home opposite sex....we take in alot of dogs because of fighting and its always bar none same sex.
