I've got a Welsh d x tb filly 2 years old in July but she's only 14.1! I needed her to get to about 15.2 mark but I don't think it's going to happen what do you reckon she could make, mum is 16h tb dad was 14.3 Welsh d.

To give you a very rough idea, you can also add a hand to their two year old height to give you an approximate height at maturity.

My mare was just over 14.1hh aged 2 years 4 months. She has finished at a smidge over 15hh age 6. Dam was 15.3 TB and sire a 16.1 WB. I string tested her and it came out at 15.1hh so pretty accurate.

My D x TB is by a 14.2hh stallion out of a mare that was about 16.1hh and he has finished around 15.3hh. Taken a while to get there though and is a very different looking beast at 8 years old than he was at 2 years old!

Does he look more like a Welsh now? Mines really leggy when she grows but then fills out again and she hasn't grown in a while now

He looks like this now..... (please excuse the belly, he is just coming back after a break) 🙈🙈

He's gorgeous!! Hopefully mine will grow to a nice height I will have to do the string test tomorrow to see what t says

Nice! Why do you need him to make that height? If he's deep through the girth & has a decent length of rein - both of which look likely - then even if he doesn't quite make the height you want he most likely will find him fine to ride.
