Hi,

Just wondering whether anyone had come across an adult horse with impacted teeth.

The impact occurring due to an adult permanent tooth obstructing the eruption of 2 other permanent teeth and the issue not being picked up as a youngster.

Thanks

Yes, i have a pony companion who has impacted incisors. His mouth conformation is quite poor and my vet has said leave it alone as removing it would cause more issues with his remaining teeth and would lead to having all his front ones removed making it nigh on impossible for him to graze. He does occasionally get grass stuck but flushing his mouth out removes it. He certainly isnt affected by it and can eat perfectly well and is as fat as a bullock despite muzzled at all times when turned out all through the year and only on 1/4 flap of hay at night and no food.
