Impersonate the police with this hi viz

I have one, and they usually slow down to have a better look to see what it says

However, I do ride a 17.1 coloured horse,so its not as though they can claim they didnt see me
I think any hi viz works, as you are quicker to be seen on the road, regardless of what it says on the back

ETS - I hack once in a while with a police officer friend, who has been known to take down number plates of those who choose to fly past us

I have one and really have noticed people slowing down more - and my pony is 14.1, so its not like we look like mounted police ... but I was hacking to a show last summer & an old man asked me if I was a police officer (bless him)

I also wear a blue hat with a reflective yellow bandwhich adds to the overall effect I reckon!

I got mine last week, it arrived 2 working days after ordering, and I have definately noticed cars slowing down more which is fantastic! I've also got the matching hat band and exercise sheet on order which aren't available until April.

I have one of these and they are brill. They are also ok'ed by the police and I've had a number of police drive past me whilst wearing mine and they've never said a word (I did wonder if they would lol). They also have 2 zipped pockets which are just fab! Love mine and would completely recommend them

Used it last week, coupled with a high viz exercise sheet, and drivers definitely slowed down more than usual

It might help that m'hoss is a 16.3hh DWB

I'm definitely thinking of getting a tabard as I ride a bay 16.3!

I'm not sure on the hat bands and neck bands - obviously they are to look like the police but are they really that visible?
I think I'll be sticking to my yellow neck band and hi viz hat cover.

That has been my idea for the last 3 years!!!!!

It's very common with motorcyclists to try and imitate coppers and the word "polite" has been used to great affect for years!!!

I want one now... I really do...

And FTR, it's not even close to imitating a rozzer cos it says "polite". Not my problem if someone's driving past too quick to read properly, is it...

Another livery goes out on her little 13.2 wearing one and i think road users are fooled!!

i think they are great and really do make cars slow down! My local saddlery has just started stocking them pretty cheap so i think i'm going to be up there soon treating myself to one!

Surely, your everyday Joe Bloggs, assuming a police horse, used to riots etc, would therefore consider the horse bombproof and speed past?

My mate has one of these. In winter when we rode in the dark, he wore his over his normal Hi Viz full jacket, and I also had my jacket on. We have other hi viz, like tail wraps/brushing boots/matingales etc.

People really do slow down and the kids on the estate who couldnt really read did shout out "Its the police!!!!" LOL

Yes may not look entirely convincing on a smaller horse, but whose to say ur not riding ur own horse off duty?

My friend had one, and road a 13.2 NF, and you often find the inital " oh bugger" thought is enough to slow them till the whole "they cant be a copper" thoughts kick in.

I have got one and I love it! Seems to be workign so far, my OH says that it is very visible. I also have a pink Rockfish Rider jacket, whilst wearing this a car pulled up next to me wound his window down and siad 'Never mind slowing the cars with that jacket, you'll frighten the horses!'. So they definitely attract attention.

I have one and to be honest havent really noticed a great deal of difference in the speed people pass.

The policeman didnt take offence to my jacket when I reported a driver for speeding towards us and spooking my horse.

I had more of a snail pace reaction from drivers when I wore my CAUTION Young Horse tabard. Now that did make a difference. I would often get asked how old my horse is though, which made me think until I realised why they asked me the question...lol
