Hello, does anyone know what the cost would be for importing a horse from Europe to the UK, thanks.
Thank you for your reply.Depends where in the uk. Import tax is a big part too but someone like Parker’s will quite accurately.
Thank you for taking the time to give me all your information much appreciated. It depends entirely on where in the EU the horse is and where in the UK you are. Ive just recently brought my three home from Scandinavia to the UK and there were a lot of hidden costs to do with the countries own rules too.
You need to get in touch with a transporter and get a quote from them, they know how it works in every country too, they’ll be able to give you a rough estimate and then you can find out from whoever has the horse about additional costs. It’s far from easy in some countries and if the horse isn’t stud book registered then it can make it a lot harder and blood tests etc are required.
Mine travelled out and back with John Parkers and I wouldn’t recommend anyone else for a long distance, they’re amazing.
Thank you for the information, much appreciated. It is normally around 2k to bring a horse over and that varies depending on size of shared load etc. Import tax is 10% of the horses value unless you bring in via Ireland and then you don't pay any.
Thank you for your reply, much appreciated.I was quoted 1,500 euros from northern France to southern shore of UK, plus extra if you want them to transport within uk to your final destination. That was a producer who does it a lot & you have to wait, sometimes several weeks, until he has a "batch" coming.
