imprint Sport shoe

I used imprint shoes on my shetland when they 1st came out years ago
FAB FAB FAB
VERY expensive though! my farrier had to buy all of the stuff to fit them, plus went on a course to fit them. The 1st few times it took him ages but he soon got faster at it. I used to pay about £70 just for the fronts. They CANNOT be refitted - a friend tried them a few years after me after seeing how fab they were on my shetland, her farrier tried to reuse them - result, pony got a lot worse and had to be PTS.
Also, you have to be very careful where you turnout - too muddy get pulled off, too dry, the front tabs come undone and they get loose. From memory they only last about 4 weeks, if they move very slightly (as they quite easily can) then the pony can look crippled.

Haven't had experience of the sport shoe, but I have one with imprint shoes. He is a chronic laminitic (Cushings Disease) and the imprint shoes literally saved his life during his last acute attack over two and a half years ago. They do cost £100 for just the fronts, but my pony grows very little foot, so he goes 12-13 weeks between sets. He has never lost one of the shoes and has been turned out in all sorts of conditions.

Ditto above, had imprints for a lami pony, vet had said he would have to be pts but farrier ordered them by return and they saved his life. Took the pressure off the sole, very comfy, no banging in of nails. Had three sets over about 5 months, only lost one, rode in the last pair too. Cost £110, think they cost about £50 a set and then £50 or whatever your farrier normally charges for two fronts. So worth it if you have problem feet for whatever reason.

I am now back to normal shoes but had a few problems with hoof breaking up so might have a pair just for one fitting to give hoof a chance to grow down again.

They look interesting

Saw the page advert in H&H yesterday and have made a mental note to quiz my vet and farrier about them.
Have also emailed the company to find out the RRP
