Right, nearly got the tow car...... loads of people are willing to hack out with me......all I need now is some brakes.

Currently ridden on the second ring of a three ring gag with a french link, but tends to put head down and pull against me while going as fast as he likes.

This is based on some sponsored rides that i did a couple of years ago..... he gets very competitive and wants to be at the front all the time..... and used to succeed!!!!

More recently Ihave been hacking out with sedate friends as he has had problems with arthritis... but time to move up a gear now (once i have got him fit)

I know its quite a jump up, but i use a cheltenham gag, and i've really struck gold. I'd rather have a stronger bit and not have to use it so much, than tugging on his mouth with a milder bit!

Another option i've heard are good are myler combos.

Good luck!

I used a myler combo last season for xc then it TOTALLY failed on me one hunter trial and we circumnavigated a field of jumps twice before we pulled up! (Judge asked if I wanted to stop and I said No - have to add that as was s***** myself but determined to make her jump everything and running round the field twice only counted as one refusal he he he).

Sorry - I returned to schooling LOTS and now find a pelham on one rein with roundings is my best option. Tried everything else and she seems happiest in this.

v annoying as she'll stop with seat only when she feels like it so I know how you feel!

i have a very opinionated pony who goes very well in a cheltenham..i ride him with 2 reins..

you could try, if you want to spend the money!!..a myler combo....
