This isn't too dissimilar to another post on here already, however, I'm just not happy where my horse is stabled.... there's only me and one other patronising woman.. the only field shelter available is an old pig barn which is a hazard in itself and has all sorts of metal sticking out of it. The muck heap is also in the field (by the gate) etc etc... after a recent falling out which I've mentioned before I just really don't like being there (I'm a wuss like that) and either go very early or very late to avoid her and her sharers. I've even stopped riding, other than my 1 lesson a week!
I'm moving away completely (out the county!) in a month or so, but since I will be moving horse with me then should I just wait? there is a possibility to move to a yard that is not even a mile away, with a field and stable I could use and just one other horse. So hacking would be fairly similar too. But is that fair? she's been where she is now for 6 years, and even when I ride to the yard next door (for lesson) she'll stop and call out to her fieldmates :( but she never acted overly weird or spooky about being in a different yard - two lessons in and even when the ponies charged up to the school and run along side us she contains herself well

Is that unfair to think about moving her? It may only be till the end of august, maybe a bit longer. I've had her on loan for 2 years, so she knows me etc, and I've got too much time on my hands so could be up there for ages just keeping an eye on her. Thoughts???

it really whether you can deal with it for another month or so, if you think your horse won't get too unsettled then do it, but if not its only a month - just stick it out - but other yard sounds nice and if your that unhappy about current yard then it maybe better for you and your horses are away for a while :) x

I think that she should be just fine!!! maybe even better it is to much of a risk if ever she hurts herself on the pig barn it will be even more unfair than moving her!!!!
good luck!!!

No don't be silly, she'll settle fine.

Current place seems a nightmare waiting for you both so I'd be out of there in a flash if it was me :) Your money and your horse....least you should get out of it is some enjoyment.

I would move, I couldn't forgive myself if she got hurt e.g. on the pig barn if I had had the chance to move her and hadn't. I'm sure she will settle in fine.

I suppose in an ideal World it would be good to stay, but I totally understand your predicament. I am awful being somewhere with atmospheres and would likely go at times when I could avoid said person. I am sure you have enough to do moving without the added stress. For me, I would move. I wouldn't worry at all about your horse settling. They are adaptable and at the end of the day horses that compete nationally are always away in different stables.

Thanks! you're all right I'm just such a worrier that moving her about twice in such a short time will cause problems, have visions of her leaping over a fence and running back to out current yard! but I think I'd rather her be a bit unsettled for a while longer than cutting herself up on god knows what...!
