I couldn't have put it better myself. I am very sorry you went through this. However, you should remember you are clearly in a better position, better educated and BETTER BROUGHT UP!! than the yobs you try to make you feel uncomfortable.

totally agree, for every sad little **** on the street who thinks they're smart because they can shout an insult, you have the support and admiration of 50+ people on here, and we're far more important than the sad *****;):D
Stay strong, you've already proved you are by all the things you have already overcome, next time someone comments, flash them your leg and say 'they gave me a new leg,shame they couldn't do the same for your brain!';)
 
Don't let others drag you down, this world is full of alot if nasty people who like to hurt others..!! Why..??? Well normal kind people like ourselves will never understand them or what satisfaction they get out if doing it. My ex boyfriend lost his leg below the knee and his arm below the elbow in a accident and it was not until then did I realise how rude and ignorant some people are. Even some thing like shopping in asda , people would stare at him , I mean children you don't mind as they are just curious but there no excuse for adults. I used to be like " what u never seen someone with a missing limb before, you want a bloody photo" and they would normally scurry off with their tails between thier legs. Some people really are not worth bothering over, ignore ignore ignore....!!! Hugs x
 
Horrible horrible people who obviously have very sad and selfish lives.

You have had an incredibly tough time and none of us will ever know just what that's like but what we do have in common with you is our horses. You hold onto the fact that you DO have many friends. Some of whom you dont know ( Us H&H ers ) and many you do. Plus your beautiful horse.

You have no idea just what an inspiration you have been to many of us. Easy for me to say, but ignore such people and certainly do not dwell on their cruel and sour comments. You come on here and rant as much as you like, we are all behind you.

It's so easy for people on here to say that "sticks and stones" crap - but it does hurt... it hurts like hell.

I do agree that arming yourself with a few good responses is always useful, makes you feel more confident that you can handle a situation if nothing else.

People made comments about my hair when it started coming back through ( I was so proud that I had an inch of hair growth! ) and when they made comments like ' nice hair' I used to reply ' thanks, I got it free with my cancer' soon shut the Feckers up!
These people talk like this because they are ignorant - don't let them hide behind it! Turn to them am look them in the eye when you tell them ' actually I lost my leg that's why I walk a bit funny' Make them think before they make some other person suffer.

Don't let a few comments ruin your day - look at all the encouragement from people on here and be proud of what you have achieved :)

Once again Thank You to every one for your very kind words and support,most of the time I just think sod you, but there are times when it just really gets me down and I feel that I have no where to turn, so I vent my feelings on here. Your kind words have made me cry but in a nice way and tomorrow is another day, and I know that nothing is going to change so I must just get on with it. I was once walking through our fairly nice little town, when 3 youfs drinking from tins in a bus shelter shouted to a young lady "show us your XXXs". I thought that's just not acceptable so I went over and very politely explained that I was offended, so how would the young lady feel? I don't want to bore you with the details but they basically didn't appreciate my point of view and the end result was that 2 proved to be very fast sprinters and the 3rd (who shouted the abuse) wet himself in public. For the record, I didn't lay a finger on him, I was simply thinking aloud what my options were, when his bladder gave way!

Raging cowards the lot of them. rest assured, sooner or later what goes around comes around!! Their day will come.

When I was a baby, the birthmark on my face was red and raw, and my mother often had people comment about 'why don't you cover it up'..etc etc...

The worst one was when she was on her way to meet the family at the pub for something to eat, and some guys hung out of the car and yelled 'where did you get the monkey from!'....

Of course she was in tears when she arrived in the pub, and explained what had happened...and it just happened that some of the relatives were squaddies....who high-tailed out the pub, jumped into the army trucks and went hell for leather after the car...

The story after this is a bit vague now, half the family say they got away, and the other half say they caught up with them and 'gave them a stiff talking to'..one would assume the stiff bit was with heavy boots and a few fists....:D

Some people are tw*ts, and as usual, the minority make the majority look bad.

I believe in Karma, oneday, these senseless people will get theirs, hopefully when they come back as a slug and you then stand on them.

I am so sorry some ignorant people have made you feel like this. Some people are just hateful and stupid and don't deserve the luck they have had in life.

I hope lots of the lovely replies here have made you feel a bit better about things.

I continue to be shocked by how awful some 'humans' are. I'm sure there is some kind of sub-species that is missing the decency gene!

This is absolutely true. The people who feel the need to put others down are doing so because that's the only way they can possibly think that they can improve their own perception of themselves. Its *****, and knowing that doesn't make it any less ***** I do appreciate, but they really should be pitied for having such fragile and sad little lives themselves.

Love the photo of you and miss ebony, you really are one of the most inspirational people.!I am sure that I would sit and feel sorry for myself. My mum like other people on here says that everyone gets their day of judgement and good grief will those vile people get theirs! Badly educated people and those with no manners are the worst and I don't mean academically educated I mean in the ways of te world and being open minded, caring and considerate. I remember when I slipped over pushing my pram with a 3 month old baby in it in the ice and people stepped round me, at the time I wanted to scream at them but it just goes to show! Some people just don't matter and these are prime examples of those people. They will have nothing to show for their sorry lives when they are old, no interesting stories to tell round the dinner table, nothing. You have so much to be proud of, so much to live for and I agree, please put pen to paper and tell your story, I will be one of the first in the queue to but a copy! Xx

Having read this and seen your pics all I can say is you have a stunning smile,enviable figure and beautiful horse and from you original post you are obviously intelligent and eloquent(and can spell better than me!)
I think the barstewards who shouted that abuse have a truly devastating disability............. utter stupidity. I pity them.
 
I didnt actualy need you to re post those pictures of the SHOW. They are etched in my memory under "nice things that I really dont want to forget". As for those cretins without a life. well that is all they are .They would have shouted whatever feeble crap entered their tiny minds regardless of who it was.Dont let it get you down ,to us you are a winner!!

I agree with this especially if the little "darlings" don't actually know that your gait is different because you have lost part of a leg. I would like to be optimistic and think that may even just one of them would, after finding this out, be ashamed and actually go home and think about how unkind (s)he has been. Maybe such a response will actually educate others whereas shouting back or swearing will achieve nothing except them laughing it off.


Of course this is much easier said than done, remaining in control of ones emotions . I know from personal experience, as will anyone whos appearance is even slightly "different" and who has been on the receiving ends of taunts, teasers will choose anything from big boobs, wearing glasses, stuttering etc. to pick on. Children are just so cruel at times ................ not condoning it at all as if I had ever heard any of my children doing this there would have been hell to pay :mad:

I am often out with the people I work with who have physical and / or learning difficulties and attention is paid at times to their appearance or behaviour. This varies from brief stares to longer stares/ glares through laughing / sneering to me being told that such ********* people should not be brought out in public and ********** put to sleep at birth. I am afraid the last one actually left me speechless initially I was so shocked but the response I wanted to give would have got me sacked :mad: :mad: :mad: :mad:


It can depend on the situation / mood I am in but I try sometimes to get a bit of education or humour in if I can . ... or get my point across in a way that appears polite but really can actually embarrass the "offender" because it makes bystanders aware that the person has been unkind / cruel.

i hope you're feeling a bit better about things now, and realise that decent people would never say such things. my father used to say 'consider the source' of any comment - if it comes from someone whose opinion really is of no account at all, because they're a tragic little saddo, then it's not worth 1 more second of your time, let alone getting upset about.
i hope you can get a really withering comment or two ready for next time, if it ever happens again. you should pity these idiots, they obviously have nothing going for them, horrible little gits.
my cousin is an amputee, and tends to rend people speechless by saying that his leg got bitten off by a shark, or whatever other outlandish reason occurs to him at the time. it shuts them up...

I am so sorry you had to deal with low lifes hurting you like that.

Screw them. You are a good person. I have no understanding for that type of behavoir. I only wish my husband were there today. You would have had someone to walk with you and make you laugh. Myself on the other hand would have been busy calling those idiots a bunch of wankers and causing a big scene which you don't need!

Please please don't let them get to you. I know that's easier said than done. You just come here and let us prop you up when you need it ok?

I just read through your posts as i had not come across them before.

Quite frankly, i am gobsmacked in what a BRAVE person you are.

Not just for losing your leg after enduring 4 years of pain after a fall but for braving all those bullies and ****wits that have no compassion or understanding.


Just to make is clear ; You are totally awesome.
 
I may be a bit off topic right now but just want to say that you are a lot braver than I am!
There is a lady up my yard who lost the whole of her right leg in a car crash, but she just doesn't care. I remember someone calling her a freak and she started waving her crutches at him lol. She doesn't have a false leg, she seems quite happy with her crutches, swinging on them at every given opportunity lol.
IMO there is not enough brave, strong, confident people like you and her in the world.
& the pictures are lovely!
