I want to start showing my section A mare next year and I was wondering if anyone knew of any smallish shows local to the Glos area? She is quite a nervous mare and I want to introduce her to it gently.
Also, does anyone know where I can find god information about showing natives in hand as I've never done it before!!
Thanks

try wpcs website they have a list of welshie shows in different areas, word of warning though - welsh showing is a charged atmosphere, especially the D's, you maybe better off going to local riding club shows and doing mixed M&M classes until she gets more confident, good luck!

Agree with chilliem - I've found local shows doing mixed age M&M showing has been better for my nervous youngster as older horses are calmer and better behaved which helped the youngster.

First show I took her to was a youngstock class at a RC show. Big mistake as there was so much going on she was terrified, and the when we got to the ring, there were 5 other loony youngsters all leaping about and neighing madly!

Therefore have entered a couple of Unaff M&M mixed classes where the rest of the entrants were brill. Has made such a difference and I'm glad to say my youngster has improved in leaps and bounds.
