In-hand dressage

We do this every year at our yard Summer Show. :D

Horses can have headcollars on, but no rope to be attached. Bribery is allowed. Minimal talking allowed. It's a short walk/trot test including circles. Genie and I ROCK at it (we won with 87%) - the joy of a horse that goes well in-hand and LOVES carrots....

Our yard test (just found it)

1. A - Enter at walk and proceed down centre line
C - Track left

2. H - Trot
E - 15m circle
EK - Trot

3. K - Walk
A - Down centre line
C - Track right

4. M - Trot
B - 15m circle
BF - Trot

5. F - Walk
FD - Half circle right 10m in diameter
DK - Half circle left 10m in diameter

6. K - Trot
A - Down centre line
G - Halt, immobility, salute

The only collectives are for the freedom and regularity of paces.

Hope that helps!

We tried some in-hand dressage classes during our season of sumer shows this year (we do showing classes, ridden dressage, working hunter and gymkhanas) and gave up as we had a total of two entries!
