Hi everyone, I have entered ex racehorse classes in a week's time and wondered if there is a better option that a pair of reins? He has lovely ground manners but occasionally with spring energy, he has the odd moment and I wondered if there is a longer option for leading him with a snaffle bridle? I know there are lead reins but they aren't much difference in length and I want something in case he gets frisky and I need to control him! Thanks

You could use a lead up rein that would be used in the parade ring at the racecourse. I have a leather one with a butterfly type attachment to the bit rings.

TBH when you are in the ring your horse should never be further away from you than a set of full size reins will allow.
