Thought I would take my other halfs horse to a wee low key in hand show at the weekend. Merlin is holsteiner warmblood, 162, 9 years old. He has very low miles and is very baby ish. He loves to go faster and higher but standing still isnt his forte! So thought this show would be good for a training exercise.
So, we entered the condition and turnout and I didnt hold much hope of doing well as Merlin had lost a bit of condition and was slowly building it up over the last couple of weeks and also I had band plaited as I was being lazy. So, when we were pulled in 2nd, I was delighted!
Then we had entered the hunter class, it wasnt a big class but Merlin was so well behaved and managed to be pulled in 1st
he then went on to take reserve champion as well.
Good start to our showing season with one of our horses. Looking forward to M taking Merlin to do his working hunter classes in the next few weeks and also taking my veteran out too.
