No, I haven't suddenly decided that I will become a man :o :p Thanks to my recent rubbish health, inability to run, and the fact that I really don't want to have to take my cartilage piercings out (yes, sadly, that does factor in slighty  ) my boyfriend is going to show Peanut, my Fell colt, for me in-hand this year if we ever actually get out anyway.

We've had a look at what options there are for him to wear, he wants to go for a tweed jacket, fine. Any ideas where best to search/what makes may be best? He's 6'4 and skinny so I'm already dreading finding anything to fit him  :o
Any ideas on what colour shirt/tie? Obviously pale trousers... (will most probably be a primark trip!)

Also, slightly random question but I have a fair few photos from one of the Fell shows, and very few of the men seem to be wearing gloves, which I thought was 'incorrect'? Or is that just because most places only seem to stock nice gloves in womens sizes?!

I'm already thinking it's going to be harder keeping Rob clean on show days than the pony... this could be my worst plan ever :o :D

We got OH a really nice Mears tweed from ebay. He is a beanpole so was a bit of a shot in the dark! Just measured his chest and went for it - bingo! Yes, he could do with a touch more arm length and more of a slim fit, but even if you were to spend a fortune, short of m2m, I don't know what you get that would be better.
Shirt and tie - work ones, trousers from tesco, jod boots (equestrian clearance if he doesn't have his own) and gloves are brown shires cotton pimple ones - look smart.
Fortunatly my velvet fits him so that saved a fortune.

Best of luck, get some fab pics!

P.S. to keep clean I groom and OH has clothes with joggers and coat over - no final preps of pony allowed! His job is to stay clean and find his own mud free route to the ring lol!

OH had to run ridden horse up for me when I had bad back. Bought a nice tweed jacket that does for other things plain shirt and pale tie and pale everyday trousers. Didn't wear gloves. Wore flat cap other than when had to wear hard hat for which we borrowed an ill fitting bowler. Then I found a brand new velvet hat in charity shop. He still hasn't forgiven me for making him wear that

Think guesswork may be a big part of it - doesn't seem like many places stock a great number of mens jackets to try! No doubt he'll only grow out of whatever we buy anyway

I'll have to learn to use his camera  Usually he's the photographer & I'm the idiot being towed about by a horse!

Does that mean I'm allowed to lock him in the car & leave him there until needed?! :D I think I'll pray for mud free days!
