In hand showing

I want to show my boy at a local show in best gelding and best coloured and spotted he's a 15.3 Appaloosa X American Quater horse and his colour is red leopard. I would like advice on what I should wear and what I should put him in bridle ect and if I should plait if so how ( mane and tail or just tail ? )

I'd assume you would plait (M&M owner, so not much experience with plaited breeds!) and it's both correct to use a bridle or an in-hand bridle, however, if using a bridle show with reins over head - in-hand leads only go on in-hand bridles :) You usually wear navy or beige trousers (whichever shows up better with your horses colour so that the judge can differentiate between your legs and the horses legs). Hat gloves and jacket obviously and don't forget to practice getting him to trot up and stand nicely.
