So my whippet stays with a dog sitter once a month. On my office day.
He has the absolute best time. She specialises in sight hounds so he always has other sight hounds to play with and he just has the most tremendous fun.
Now his normal life is not lacking. We have two other dogs who he plays with, lots of forest walking etc. He is a seemingly content, happy chap.
BUT, for about 2 days after he has been with the dog sitter, he will try and escape from our garden. He tries to fold himself under the garden gate
I can't decide if it's because he has so much fun or if it's something to do with him being entire and he wants to get back to her bitches (who are both spayed )
She does not take him if she has an in season female obviously.
He also has NEVER shown any separation anxiety. Yet if she only takes him for a walk and then drops him home afterwards and nobody else is in, he loses his shit! He is perfectly happy being left alone at any other time.
