Took Lord SJ today and all was well, he traveled up there well and was fabby warming up, then we went in the ring

Picture in your head bright yellow jumps, solid orange fillers, flowers, Dolphin wings etc........yeah Lord REALLY didn't take to the orange filler so had a refusal but came around again and he jumped it, jumped the next 2 ok if taking the mick a bit and trying his hardest to run out, got to no5 and the not so little ducker swung around ending in me hanging on round his neck ............. gave up trying to get back on and fell/ dismounted (although I am told it looked rather gracefull :o )

Took him out & jumped a few more fences under the guidance of my YM ( who affirmed what I thought, that he was taking the mick and not being the most helpfull) Went in again HC and he jumped much better (tends to be once he has seen something once he is ok) but had troubles at no 6 (grey fence with solid grey filler) but got him over it in the end.

All was ok even though I felt slightly dispondant and embarrased at my earlier dismount. THEN Lord goes and breaks away from the lorry as a passing trailer had spooked him :(

So all in all a really cr*ppy day and I'm now sat at home feeling rather down about the day

Choccie & Soco if you got this far & offer hugs :p

Oh dear :( I really feel for you. Let me tell you my story, hopefully to cheer you... Went to do dressage, horse just not interested, horse stopped to go for a poo during the test, we carry on, horse comes around again and spooks at his own poo! Are you allowed to dismount and cry in the middle of a test? Treat yourself to a hot chocolate :)

That is soooo funny !!!

huge hugs xxx i was at dressage a few weeks ago when my mare was taking particular exception to being seperated from her boyfriend  test was horrendous and I 'tapped' her with the stick going up the centre line as she tried to spin out yet again......she did a not very large buck and I fell off!!! very embarrasing, so you have my total sympathy!!

Whoopsiedaisy :-( Take it on the chin (with the help of some vino and/or chocolate) and put it all down to good experience!! It happens to the best of us. I'm terrified of jumping so you've done a damn sight better than I could ever have done!
