I need to devise an exercise programme for my TB to build muscle around her stifles and loosen her up. I've got about 1/2 hour a day most days (and a little more at the weekend), can do twice a day but need to keep the volume of exercise down as much as possible because she's Insulin Resistant so feed options are limited and she's a poor doer. Can't hack during the week as it's dark by the time I leave work ('cause I work silly hours!).

Things I know help are: circles, lateral work, trotting up hills, transitions.

Can anyone help? I'm usually good at this but my mind seems to have deserted me today!

Hill work, that is the best thing IMO. Walking on roads as well if poss will help. You don't have to keep going up and down. Pick a dressage test or some shapes, you could even just practice transitions. You will also get the added benerfit of throughness and contained power and energy as a horse has to use it,s back and quarters to navigate a hill.(also good to drain excess energy and build stamina.
Hope this helps x
