In or out?

My pony lived out all winter last year but the other four horses at the yard all come in, so my boy was out on his own and wasnt very happy... Was thinking about bringing him at night this winter... do you think he'd be happier? He would still be out in the day on his own but would at least be with the others at night

Hmm, I think if being out means being on his own at night I would bring him in. Horses feel vulnerable after dark, especially if they have no 'herd' to keep watch. Do the others stay in 24/7 in the winter then or are they just in different paddocks?

Is there no other horse who could stay out with him all the time? Seems a real shame to have to bring him in.

3 of the others stay in 24/7 and one is out sometimes in the day but he doesnt get on with mine... they have only been out together once and my pony got kicked

So he's on his own!!

In that case leave him out again this winter.
