Bonfire night tomorrow not many fireworks tonight or this week but is bad tomorrow alot of pubs around - my horse is a natural stress head and weaves at any opportunity do you think he would be left out so if he does get scared he can run or leave him in???? Thank you x

if he is currently in at night, then I would just continue the same - change of routine might upset him. Are there other horses in their stables near him?

I would keep in same routine. That's what I'm doing. My lad is also having a calmer tomorrow as a display only 300yards away. But atleast if he is in he can't charge off like a loon and go through a fence and into a river. Routine is best i think as they are naturally more settled and there have probably been a few bangs through the week while been in anyway. Good luck

Yes there is 10-11 horses in at night but he isn't a fan of the stable anyway at best of times hexwill weave the majority of the time when people are around and settles when people are gone so ?!?!? Just thought if he does get scared he can run with the horses that are outside x

I think in is best, they tend to get stressier with a new routine so I'd just keep him with what he's used to doing, plus this will stop him charging about round the field / through fences etc if he's the type to do that - but obviously every horse is an individual and if he's happier in the fields with his friends than inside next to them then go with what you think is best for him. If he's a real worrier then perhaps give him an instant calmer before it gets dark & fireworks start going off, that may help to settle him. If you stable him & have the option of a radio, I find that helps with our nervous ones x

I agree with the others keep him in as it's his normal routine. Mine normaly stay out, but on the yard I am on there a few cottages one of which is close to my field & they are having fireworks tomorrow night so going to bring my boys in as although they are fine, not had them that close before

Oh well I'll be different :) I have never and would never leave a horse in a stable when there are fireworks outside unless you're going to be with the horse. The fire hazard would be too much and horses are normally calmer when they're out and can see what's going on.

Ours always cope better outside, but they are not the sorts to run through fences anyway. We did leave them in one year, and they stressed, but outside they are fine. We had one on loan that was nervous and ran around a bit, but when she saw the others weren't bothered she calmed down.. We are very lucky to have a big wedding venue about 1/4 mile away that does fireworks at 10pm fri/sat/sun, so they are all well used to them!

What will the others be doing with their horses at the yard. If there are other sensible horses going out I'd perhaps do that.
