In praise of...

my new farrier! He came out today and I'm very impressed, he was polite and chatty and commented on how pretty flash was and what lovely markings, flattery always gets you in my good books haha! He was very calm and pleasant with Flash, which is exactly what he needs, and Flash's feet look 100% better and I'm really pleased

We decided to take his back shoes off and see how he gets on, as apparently he has very good feet and it might reduce the chance of him slipping on grass. I'd never really thought about this, but it does make sense and he was slipping a lot when he plays in the field. Anybody else got shoes just on the front?

Ahh its always nice to have a good farrier

Do you know I completely forgot to phone my farrier earlier in the week so I phoned this morning hoping that he'd be able to fit mine in before the weekend as I have a fun ride. And hes coming tomorrow morning at 6.45am

as hes going away tomorrow evening. What a good farrier!

I sometimes just have fronts on when I'm not doing too much road work on my WB. My friend just has fronts on all of her riding horses, so it must work well.

It does make a change to have a nice farrier. Mine will come out asap, and has horses himself so understands.

I am really relieved, I've got soem before and after pics of Flash's awful feet I'll have to put up! Got Richard Swift in the end, he phoned us the other night to say he'd be in the area, was such a welcome call, I had reached despairing point!

Not happy with mine at all... his feet were done on friday and they look awful.. and its now gone up to £40 for fronts on!

so in answer to your question.. yep i just have fronts lol. Would try and go barefoot if neddy didnt have typical rubbishy TB type feet and it wasnt so stoney in my area and on the yard.
