well Mr seaman, if it is not rocket science to advise that these put in place, i am sure it would not be rocket science to put these measures in place. all events have a responsibilty to make sure all horses come back home safe and well.

How did it happen then? I haven't seen the accident since I watched it live on the Beeb, and just assumed that........

It was the bottom of the flagpole that caused the injury. The pole only snapped as the horse landed on it.

And what must the odds have been for it to pierce two arteries and the bowel? A million to one??
You could probably get a thousand horses hitting the flagpole like that, but they would maybe have suffered a laceration at most. It was as freakish an accident as you could possible imagine.

Just seen the video, and my god what a poor horse, did not realsie it was on the video untill the end.
Such a tragic and sad loss RIP my lovely chap..
For those who saw it first hand, i really feel for you, must have been the worst thing to see. ((hug))
