Can anyone recommend an insurer who will provide me with income protection cover that doesn't exclude injuries caused while riding and specifically whilst hunting? Not having much luck so far! Thanks

My OH has income protection from Aviva, which includes his hobby of sailing, which I think can be just as dangerous as riding. As he broke his wrist as a child, any claim involving his wrist is excluded.

To b perfectly honest, I don't think insurers are interested in covering anyone or anything if there is a chance you might actually claim!

Have you tried NFU? There must be plenty of hunting farmers who need income protection.

My husband is an Independent Financial Advisor and there is a guy in his office that can help you with this, PM your details if you are interested

income protection is expensive. CICA is quite good and many self employed people use them. (combined insurance company of america) they do sickness plans, accident plans, and hospital plans, and combinations of those.

And fifteen years ago I didn't get a penny from them as they decided that my elbow pain was a combination of injury & wear & tear and not accident or sickness. (torn ligaments.) Nearly six months off work.

IME they are the people version of E&L

I've got income protection and I had to do a fair bit of searching for one that covered horse accidents.

I think that policy is with Liverpool Victoria, but would need to double check. Let me know if you need help and I'll dig out my poicy
