A random musing for a friday afternoon.
I used to be allergic to eggs as a child & so never really liked them, same with milk. My tollerance has increased with age and tho I' gag at the thought of eating egg white, I can eat any eggs if baked in a cake or meringue or possibly a bread & butter pudding if the egg is mixed well before hand & the pud well done...same goes for carbonara...so...we all know they advise we have a specific limit on eggs per week in our daily allowance for health reasons - women I think is 4 max...men I think 6. I made my very first omlette recently for my dog and decided to brave one myself...I've had several since but have noticed that some eggs make me massively lethargic almost instantly. I saw a prog the other day on tv(food dr?) the reporter ate 4 eggs a day for 2 weeks and by the end of week one she felt more than egged out, so yes, its def an egg thing!..but I'm getting this from just two eggs...but other days I can eat 2 and then have another or munch half of my poor dogs omlette(from pan, not his bowl!!) I only buy free range eggs from local farms..do any of you get this aswell? is it something in the egg that would make you feel like this & why do those from one farm do it & others don't?is it down to what they feed on? I know these eggs were not over yellow, but I feel almost sedated! They were from Black Rock hens(breed) and were absolutely massive-tho I used the two normal sized ones and gave my dog the mega ones&they were very tasty...have not had any eggs for atleast a week so its not me od'ing...just wondered if any other food sensitive people have noticed this & if its a similar effect to too much or too little sugar/sodium/potassium etc but by something eggs are high in?or an allergy to what they are fed on or perhaps even something from breed to breed...bit gutted as I'm getting quite a taste for them after all these years and just puzzled to know why!
