Pony fluffball has two incy bald patches near the bottom of the neck, exactly half way between his cheek and his chest. Probably just fussing, they're barely noticable. It looks as though he's been scratching on something, but there's nothing in the field at that height!

I'm so paranoid about him xD

But guess what? He's allready fitter! He has a licky thing rather then a haynet now (he can't scoff it all in one go) and we're only feeding him carrots now, and I know it sounds mean, but the mare he shares a field with chases him, so he gets plenty of excercise even when we aren't riding!

When I was riding him yesterday, he was a lot fresher then usual, and really enjoying himself for the first time. He was so desperate to canter that I let him. He's got a new saddle, too, which give him a lot more freedom and you can see when he trots how much room his shoulders have

He's settled in fine. Two week anniversary of his arrival is tomorrow lunch time!

Please don't take this the wrong way, but have you deloused him, have had to go through 10 at our farm that arrived at the end of last year not having their October louse treatment (we were told they had and have just found out that they weren't) and they are all suffering now! might be best to throw some over ponio just incase. Good luck and sounds like he's settleing in really well. Post some piccies will you

Could be completely going off on the wrong track here, but when I bought my mare she had mainge (SP!?) and that caused bald patches, although my mare was mostly bald from it rather than small patches, but it has to start somewhere...

not sure where you mean they are but could it be where hes reins rub? archie has little bits of scuffed hair from that and they do go bald when i have been doing alot.

At the threat of being labelled I can't think for myself I would also say it is his reins rubbing his neck, are they on both sides?
