I have two 7 month old Lab sisters who have a favourite hobby of ripping beds to bits. Anyone ever found a bed that can't be ripped apart??

I haven't found any yet that can't be ripped apart, but i use vet bed it is quite expensive but it is a fleecy type of bed that you can put in the wash. my 10 month old weimaraner likes to chew holes in them but they can still be used for agesas they dont have stuffing in them.

Our old english dogs had a tough plastic bed. It was quite hard thoiugh so needed lots of beddibg inside, I am talking 20 years ago so don't know where you would get one now. Got ours from the local pet shop.

Another thumbs up for Tuffies. My pointer has destroyed every bed I've given her up until getting the tuffie and its still in 1 piece. I got the one that you can just hose clean so its very practical too. Expensive in short-term but worth it in the long run as I haven't had to replace it.

Thanks guys (BenjaminB in a different form cause I couldn't remember by sign in stuff !!

). Vet bed no good unfortunately, holes in it and the bits from the holes ended up inside. One little girl recently had to have her stomach cut open from which they extracted stones, bones, material, rubber, grass, kitchen sink etc etc

Needless to say we are now megga careful but I will give the Tuffies a go. Thought about them but wasn't sure if they would still be able to destroy them !!!

Hi, really glad I read your post as my whippet distroys her beds, three in two weeks. I have resorted to laying down a selection of very large ex show room carpet sample tiles which gives her the necessary padding from the floor and then a blanket. This I found works really well and some of the samples I have obtained have really deep thick piles and cost me £1 from the shops.

Another vote for Tuffies here, I have had them for my GSDs for over 3 years and still nearly good as new. So easy to clean too, just hose them off and dry really quickly. I would personally always be wary of using duvets, carpets etc for dogs that chew, as you have said they can do damage if they end up inside them

NB The tuffy dog beds in the link above are not the tuffies I have used. Their website is www.tuffies.co.uk
