Does any one know of any that exist or last a bit longer than 15 mins?? I have a very playful staffie that just loves his toys but can destroy even the most toughest, hardwearing toy there is in under 15 mins. I'm a bit fed up now of wasting £3/£4 a time and fed up of having to stick my hand down his throat to rescue a 100 pieces of dog toy. Any body have any ideas? Thanks!

I got a heavy duty, indestructable plastic, kong thingy that you fill with food for my Dobie that can chew through a normal giant kong in seconds - this one has actually lasted about 6 months, and she loves it.

This is why I never leave my dogs alone with toys, if I want to keep them occupied, although a Kong is what I would get if I was getting them something or if they had to be inside for long periods.
Nylabones used to have a good reputation and I (the dogs

If I am leaving them alone with something it will be an edible chew or bone (although proper soup bones are quite hard to come by here since the BSE scare)
I am totally paranoid about my dogs swallowing little bits of synthetic toys, one of my bitches was off her feed for days because she swallowed part of a bit of a rubber bone and I know of dogs who have choked or suffered catastrophic blockages.
Many of the products labelled "Indestructable" very rarely are - and if you read the small print, most of them say on the label that they should not be left with the dog unsupervised.

They have a ball and a tug toy each but they 'belong' to me and I take them back once playtime is over. This also makes training and reward easier because the dog really 'wants' the ball, it is not something that is there all the time and they are used to having.

I have a staffie and have kong toys for him, and also a nylabone- none of them are indestuctable but last a good while. Just make sure you get the seriously tough ones though as the toys tend to come at two levels, one for 'normal' chewers and then one for your hardcore chewers
