Is there such a thing?! Currently using the equilibrium one which having spent £25 lasted all of 24h before it was shredded.

In need of something to suit an ungrateful thug with a raging eye infection!!!

I bought the equilibrium one about a month and a half ago and yesterday I had to order a new one! She tore the ear (was hanging off) in about 2 days. Getting a fly mask to suit her is an impossible task! Nees to fit well enough to not have gaps, but they rub her quite easily and bother her, and if they arent 100% on the mesh across the face she gets infected eyes...
I just bought one of these which arrived today and I shall be trying on tonight!!

I have a shires one which is solid mesh rather than the soft mesh like the equilibrium ones and it's on its 3rd or 4th year now no problems. Bought horse a fancy equilibrium one to cover his ears (he always gets midges in them/itchy ears) and he had it off every time I tried it on him, he doesn't seem to mind the minimal one tho.
This isn't the one I have (they don't seem to do it anymore) but it is a more basic design in comparison to some of the ones with ears, nose guards etc so maybe worth a try?

Thanks all!!

This one looks great, will order one and also plait it on!!!

I use a Cashel one, expensive but worth the money, it's really tough. I've used Shires ones in the past but found the mesh came away from the material pretty quickly.

I've got the equilibrium ones too - but my two boys are both removing them daily, which is a bit of a pain!
Those shires ones look good! Thanks for the link Baker, Good price too!

Mine arrived today (although it got it from Ebay for slightly cheaper, so ahve a look on there) and I will try it tonight.... fingers crossed! :)

Before I clIcked into this thread I was going to recommend the equilibrium one, had mine 4 years and has lasted well and she doesn't get it off!

To be fair, my equilibrium ones are a couple of years old - not quite sure why this summer they've decided they don't need them!
Those shires ones do look quite fitting and secure!

After hunting everywhere for a white fly mask, I got a Tesco one, in white for £4. It's now in its 4 summer of service and has been used for my own mare and on friend's horses in an emergency and is still going strong! Also have a Roma one for my wee pony and it's pants :(

Apart from going a bit big, my Equilibrum has lasted about 5 years. I tried the shires but he was frightenned of his own shadow whilst wearing it, I put it over my eyes and the sheer material reflected made shadows in the sunlight, so I presume he didnt like that.... he is a strange boy ;) I then bought a Cashel one, great fit, on its 2nd year but coming away where the ears meat the mask.

Try the premier equine ones. They are shaped like the cashel ones but cheaper. Mine haven't managed to ditch or destroy them. I have the old black and grey ones though so can't vouch for the new colour/fabric. I will say that the 'XL' size comes up small. I had two of them and still ended up using a 'L' as it was bigger and fit better!
