Has anyone ever pursued a claim and how did it go? What exactly is classed as indestructible?

Tyrex Equi-Theme "The Indestructible Rug"......Yeah Right lol

No rug can be truly indestructible because of the safety risk, I would far rather a rug got broken than my horse, in event of a horse getting caught up something has to give way so I suppose a claim would depend on how the warranty is worded and the incident involved when it did get damaged.
I would actively avoid anything advertised as indestructible in much the same way as I will never turnout in a nylon headcollar even though people do and get away with it when it does go wrong the results can be tragic.

Horseware Rambo is probably the toughest rug you will find but they do state that it will give way under pressure for safety (of the horse) reasons. As OP says I would not want to buy one that was really indestructible.

The Rambos have a great system in which the belly straps are attached by sturdy doubled up velcro fastenenings with a sacrificial plastic link. My horses are not normally rug wreckers, but I was very pleased to see that the system worked when the big mare had somehow snapped the link on one of the 3 cross surcingles. The rug stayed in place with the two remaining surcingles. Spare links are provided, and it's an easy job to replace it. Much better that than having her leg trapped within an unbreakable belly strap...

I find it strange that they are even advertising 600 denier turnout rugs as indestructible, given that 600 denier fabric rips fairly easy in normal use conditions. Whilst I always opt for rugs of 1200 denier or more these days, because they are more durable, I wouldn't expect or want a rug to be indestructible. As other have said above, if the horse gets trapped in some way, it is better that the rug or its fastenings break, than the horse.
