This was from Dog Lost ......

I was so so happy to report that Indie had been FOUND and she is safe and well. She was picked up by two young boys this afternoon in the HUYTON, Liverpool area running across the busy roads!! She still had the collar on when she was STOLEN and also had a lead attached. The boys took her home and wanted to keep her but their mum took her to the PDSA who checked her Chip and BINGO it was INDIE. The two boys were upset to see her go.

The DW did call to one of the addresses this morning but there was no dog there, looks like the word may have gotten out and Indie was TOO HOT TO HANDLE.

A MASSIVE THANKS to Animal Aid for the alert and to the DW for following it up.

Michelle is currently on holiday and is over the moon. The PDSA want to use Indie's story to promote the MICROCHIP as they are currently running a campaign.

Whoever has had Indie has cared for her as she is in very good condition.

It was with the greatest pleasure to be moving the gorgeous Indie into the BLUE and we will be getting a REUNITED photo a.s.a.p.

Thank you to everyone who has helped in the search. Welcome home Indie lots and lots of cuddles from everyone on DL. Jan x

Very pleased brilliant news
Never give up
Microchip proves the dog is yours no dispute
Reminder to self--JR is chipped, collie is not!

Its made me think, my dogs are tattooed but in reports of found dogs no one ever seems to mention checking for tattoos, which is frustrating as a tattoo is instantly visible. I think maybe its time I took the belt and braces approach and had them chipped too.

When they are chipped remember to get them checked - Yellow Dogs stopped working after a couple of years so we had to have him rechipped much to his disgust

Thats what has put me off chipping. I found a dog a couple of years ago, dog warden came out and scanned him but no chip apparent. When his owners were traced it turned out he had been chipped but it had either moved or stopped working. All you have to do with mine is look in their ear, but it seems very few DWs, rescue centres check for tattoos.:(

Wonderful news!

Although perhaps not that relevant, I thought I'd mention that my dogs (bitches) wear collar tags stating that they are speyed(wore them even before they were, in fact) - maybe it won't help at all, but I like to think that they are less of a target to thieves if they are identifiably no good for breeding. I found the idea somewhere online, and thought I'd pass it on while it's fresh in my mind. They are chipped too, btw.

Great news re Indie and glad to hear that she appears well. Katie, my little ESS bitch wears a collar tag the same as yours does, says Microchipped & Speyed with a mobile contact no. I am paranoid about her being stolen for breeding and then dumped when nothing happens :( At least with my boys you can see that they are lacking in that dept lol!

What wonderful News:) losing your dog s every owners nightmare.

Only one of mine is microchipped but that will be rectified when they go for their booster later this month.

Thank you Quirky for the full update.
